SIC (US 1987) : David W. LaSota II is founder of both The Tennis Design Studio and D W LaSota Engineering Inc. David is a 1983 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and is a licensed professional engineer in 9 states. With years of experience planning and designing tennis projects, David has developed a reputation in the tennis industry for user friendly and attractive design. David currently serves as the National Technical Consultant to the United States Tennis Association, located in Orlando, Florida. In this capacity, David provides ongoing technical consultation to public, private, collegiate, training and tournament tennis complexes throughout the United States. David also assists the USTA in the administration of the USTA Facility Assistance Program. This program provides communities and facility owners with concept development, facility assessments, training, construction grants and technical guidance for the planning, design, construction and rehabilitation of tennis facilities. Interested in making the game of tennis more accessible to young, disabled and elderly athletes, David assisted in the preparation of development standards for 36 foot and 60 foot tennis courts. He also serves on the Joint Editorial Board for Tennis Courts: a Construction and Maintenance Manual and the Technical Commission of the International Tennis Federation. David was recently awarded the Tennis Industry Service Award by Tennis Industry Magazine for his extensive contribution to the industry.
