SIC (US 1987) : More than 50 years ago, Lance and Lee Martin decided to create the first whitewater rafting outfitter on the east coast. Today, Wilderness Voyageurs is the largest of its kind in the region, and the Martins have gone well beyond whitewater.
The family-run company now offers kayaking, stand up paddling, fly fishing, rock climbing, Boy Scout High Adventure programs and bike tours in several different countries. And for the breaks between adventures, the Martins opened a restaurant and pub and an outfitter store.
