SIC (US 1987) : Fred Carlson's newest book cover illustration is the famed Nehemiah "SkIp" James-the writer of "I'm So Glad" and other blues classics of the 78rpm era. Turnaround time was two weeks from assignment received from art director Stefan Grossman to assignment delivered after 4 idea sketches were reviewed. All hand-lettered calligraphy is done by Fred as well. A poster version of this art is expected to be added to the online shop soon!
